SIN CITY
review by Jerry Horror

Okay let's do this quick. Is it worth 10 bucks to see? Yes. The cinematography is worth the price of admission alone. This truly is a comic book come to life.
Mickey Rourke is back kids and he's not taking any prisoners. Lot's of nudity and kick ass gory violence to satisfy everybody. Solid story, interesting characters and enough plot twists to baffle any young scribe.

The downside: This flick isn't for everybody. You either hate it or love it.
The dialogue is straight out of a pulp crime novel. This helps and hinders at times. Some lines are great goofy fun, others made me cringe. The music wasn't up to par. I expect more out of Robert Rodriguez after his Kill Bill volume 2 soundtrack. I'm nit piking though.

The bottom line. Get your ass to a theater and prepare for a truly unique film going experience. This film is the REAL reason they build movie houses. It is a cinematic achievement of epic proportions. It sets the bar for a whole new stlyle in cinema. It also utilizes computer wizardry in a positive way. The CGI in the film helps the story, not hinder it or just blantently
have effects for effects sake. That is true proper use of digital effects. Most of Hollywood should take a cue from Sin City and realize the full potential of digital effects further enhancing the mood and evocative tones of a film.
I will be seeing this one again. For all the comic fans out there this flick is a wet dream come true. Good to see Frank Millers work get some justice after the dreadful Daredevil and Elektra adaptations. Take a hint Marvel.

3 and a half stars outta 4
